The Philadelphia Eagles fell to 2-2 on the year with their Week 4 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
For whatever reason, the Eagles have had a tough time getting into a rhythm after their Wild Card playoff loss to the Buccaneers last season.
They have looked good at times, but they haven’t looked like a Lombardi-worthy team to this point in the season.
There are a few reasons for the Eagles’ inconsistencies, but analyst Chris Broussard seemed to have a clear take, as he pointed out on First Things First on FS1.
“Jalen Hurts is blowing it right now,” Broussard said.

Hurts was viewed as the savior of the franchise to some, but Broussard believes that he’s been more of a goat than anything.
He hasn’t looked like the MVP-caliber player he’s been in the past, and the Eagles have suffered as a result.
For instance, Hurts only threw for 158 yards in their loss to the Buccaneers, adding 20 yards on the ground.
20 rushing yards might be a great metric for a player like Aaron Rodgers or Kirk Cousins, but for Hurts, they’re pedestrian at best.
For him to be the best version of himself, he needs to rush efficiently while also throwing the ball down the field.
It doesn’t help that A.J. Brown is still hurt, and DeVonta Smith is banged up as well.
If a quarterback doesn’t have their top two receivers, it’s nearly impossible for them to play well, no matter how good they are or how well they’ve played in previous seasons.
