LINCOLN, Neb. — Rutgers is off on the wrong foot in its first Big Ten road trip of the season.

The Scarlet Knights (4-0, 1-0) will be without starting left guard Bryan Felter for their meeting against Nebraska (4-1, 1-1) after he suffered a season-ending knee injury against Washington last Friday, a person with knowledge of the situation told NJ Advance Media.

Because he only played four games this fall, the Bergen Catholic product will receive a redshirt and is expected to return for the 2025 campaign.

In addition to Felter, four other starters were listed as questionable and are true “game-time decisions,” according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel. The list includes wide receivers Ian Strong and Chris Long as well cornerback Robert Longerbeam and safety Flip Dixon. Longerbeam was dinged up in last week’s game against Washington but returned and finished the game.

There are four other Rutgers players who were listed as questionable, including freshman quarterback A.J. Surace. Surace had an “out” designation for Rutgers’ first four games after sustaining an injury prior to his first summer training camp in August.

Rutgers seeks its first win over the Cornhuskers on Saturday in what is their seventh matchup. The Scarlet Knights have lost all five meetings as Big Ten members, including both trips to Lincoln in 2014 (42-24) and 2017 (27-17).

Here is the Scarlet Knights’ full availability report:
